Overview

The tracking page allows your customers to easily track their orders and view shipment updates directly on your Shopify store. This feature is implemented as a Shopify theme extension, providing a seamless integration with your existing store design while giving customers a professional tracking experience.

Once set up, your tracking page will display a tracking widget where customers can enter their information:

  • Order Number: Customers can enter their Shopify order number

  • Email Address: The email address used when placing the order

  • Tracking Number: Alternatively, customers can use the carrier tracking number

The widget will automatically validate the information and display detailed tracking information when a match is found.

Get Started

These steps assume the tracking page is already enabled from: General Settings > Tracking , if so please continue below:

Step 1: Create a New Page in Shopify

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Pages

  2. Click the "Add page" button

  3. Configure Page Settings:

    • Title: Enter "Track Your Order" (or your preferred page title)

    • Content: Leave the content area blank - the tracking functionality will be handled by our theme extension

    • Visibility: Set to "Visible"

    • Template: Select "page" (default template)

  4. Set URL Handle: In the "Search engine listing preview" section, set a clean URL like:

    • /pages/track-order

    • /pages/order-tracking

    • /pages/track-my-order

  5. Save: Click "Save" to create your new page

Step 2: Add the Shipment Guard Theme Extension

  1. Go to Online Store > Themes and click "Customize" on your active theme

  2. Navigate to Your Tracking Page: Use the page selector at the top to navigate to the tracking page you just created

  3. Add Section: Click "Add section" and look for "Shipment Guard - Order Tracking" in the available sections

  4. Insert Extension: Select the Shipment Guard tracking extension and add it to your page

Step 3: Link to Your Tracking Page

Now that your tracking page is set up, you'll want to make it easily accessible to customers:

Common Placement Options:

  • Navigation Menu: Add a "Track Order" link to your main navigation

  • Footer Links: Include tracking access in your footer

  • Order Confirmation Emails: Link directly to the tracking page from order confirmation emails

  • Account Dashboard: Add tracking access to customer account pages
