To begin customizing your settings, go to: General Settings > Order Editing
There are a few options to select based on your intended usage of the platform:
Display order editing widget to international customers - By default the Order Editing widget is only shown to customers within your store's default (home) country. For example, if your store is based in the United States, than if a customer from Canada places an order - the Order Editing widget would not display for them. To make Order Editing available for everybody, enable this checkbox.
Recalculate shipping cost if a product is added or if the address is updated - When a customer adds an additional product to their order or updates their shipping address, this option will recalculate the shipping cost and display that new value to customers. This ensures you're not losing money if the order becomes larger in size or distance.
Recalculate taxes if the shipping address is updated - Similar, this option will recalculate taxes if the shipping address is changed. There could be a situation where the customer was charged a lower rate, and then update the address to one where a higher rate exists. This option would allow your store to ensure it's not losing money with address changes. There could be a 2nd scenario as well, where the new address is in a lower tax or zero tax juristidiction and the customer is owed a refund.
Place fulfillment on hold while the order is editable - By default when your order edit deadline exists, we will place the order on-hold within Shopify. This prevents your fulfillment team / 3PL / ERP tools to sync in the order and being processing. Once the deadline time is completed, the hold is automatically removed.
